Board & Committee Position Descriptions
Board
President:
-Principal officer of the Corporation
- Supervise and control all of the business and affairs of the Corporation, including appointing Committee Chairpersons as necessary.
- Preside at meetings
- Shall sign any documents necessary
- Shall perform all duties incident to the office
Vice-President:
- In the absence of the President, shall perform duties of the President
- Arrange programs and/or workshops for each meeting
- Provide program information to Website & Newsletter Chairpersons
- Other duties as assigned
Secretary:
- Keep minutes of the Executive Board and Membership meetings
- Provide minutes to Newsletter Chairperson
- See that all notices are duly given as required
- Custodian of corporate records
- Other duties as assigned
Treasurer:
- Be responsible for all funds
- Receive and give receipts as necessary
- Make deposits
- Pay all bills
- Prepare annual financial statement, have audit/review done in July
- Create annual budget to be approved by membership
Committees:
Community Outreach - Responsible for coordinating the making and distribution of quilts, getting membership approval for selected charities
Door Prizes - Purchases (or accepts donations) and packages items to be given away at membership meetings
Historian - Keep and update the club scrapbook
Hospitality - shall coordinate refreshments at membership meetings
Marketing (Facebook/Website) - maintains the Facebook page and updates the website as necessary
Membership - Be responsible for accepting memberships, maintaining a mailing list, and publish a directory annually (PDF membership list)
Newsletter - shall publish a newsletter prior to each regular meeting
Quilt Show Chairperson - Be responsible for executing a quilt show to include, but not limited to, selecting a date, site and theme.
Quilts of Valor - Responsible for coordinating the making and distribution of Quilts of Valor according to the QOVF.org website.
Retreats - plans all aspects of a quilting retreat(s) including location and dates
